We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired and God-breathed word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12,13).
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – perfect in every way. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus is the long-awaited Savior of the world of whom the Law and the Prophets predicted through the Hebrew Scriptures (the Old Testament). He was born of a virgin and he was fully God and fully man leading a life without sin. He physically died on the cross as a substitution sacrifice for our sins. He was buried and 3 days later, he physically rose from the dead. He has ascended to heaven and sits on the right hand of the Father. He is returning to gather his church and those who have trusted in his sacrifice on the cross will live with him forever. He is the Lord of all and the only way of salvation.
We believe that the Holy Spirit points out our separation from God by illuminating our sinful condition, convicting us of our sin, and consistently drawing us to the Father to restore the relationship between us and him. We believe that the Holy Spirit ignites in us new life at the time that we put our trust in Christ baptizing us into the body of Christ and mysteriously indwelling us. (John 16:8-11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 5:18).
We believe that men and women were created in the image and likeness of God, but that through Adam’s sin, we inherited a sinful nature and became alienated from God. Humanity has a propensity to sin and we are helpless in our effort to remedy this brokenness. We believe our only hope in restoring our relationship with God is in Jesus. (Genesis 1:26,27; Romans 3:22,23, 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12).
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to humanity by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19).
We believe that God created us to exist forever. Through accepting God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, God accepts us into his presence forever. Jesus declared clearly that no one could come to the Father except through him. We will either live forever separated from God in hell by sin or eternally with God in heaven through accepting the gift of salvation through Jesus. (John 3:16-17) We believe that heaven and hell are real places. (2 Corinthians 12:1-4, Revelation 4:1-2, Mark 9:42-48, Revelation 20:11-15).
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps 139).
We believe that God gives to us spiritual gifts. We believe that the gifts of the Spirit are given for the building up of the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:7). We believe it is the privilege and responsibility of every believer to minister according to the gift(s) and grace of God given to him or her (Romans 12:1-8; 2 Corinthians 13; 1 Peter 4:10-11).
We believe that the church, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again persons of this present age (Ephesians 1:22,23, 5:25-27; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 11:2). We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament scriptures (Acts 14:27, 18:22, 20:17, 1 Timothy 3:1-3; Titus 1:5-11). We recognize believers’ baptisms and the Lord’s Supper as scriptural means of testimony for the church in this age (Matthew 28:19,20; Acts 2:41,42, 18:8; 2 Corinthians 11:23-26).
We believe in the “blessed hope,” the personal, imminent, coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for those who have trusted in him. (I Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-18, 5:9; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 3:10, 19:11-16, 20:1-6).
