The word “confidence” originates from the Latin word “confidere,” meaning “to trust fully” or “to have full trust or reliance”. It combines the prefix “con-” (meaning “with” or “together”) and the verb “fidere” (meaning “to trust”). Essentially, confidence implies a state of being “with trust” or having reliance on oneself or someone else.
