We use the term “spiritual parent” rather than “spiritual adult” because we want to reinforce the concept of spiritual reproduction. In other words, when someone tells me they are spiritually mature, I ask them who they are discipling. It they tell me no one, then I am going to question whether they are spiritually mature.
