Message Notes

When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, “Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blasphemingWho can forgive sins but God alone?”
Mark 2:5-7

My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working.” For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

I and the Father are one.”  Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”  “We are not stoning you for any of these,” replied the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”
John 10:33

If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility CONSIDERothers better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, DID NOT CONSIDER EQUALITY WITH GOD SOMETHING TO BE GRASPED, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!
Philippians 2:1-8

Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus…
Philippians 2:4-5

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you THROUGH HIS POVERTY might become rich.
2 Corinthians 8:9

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.  But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
2 Corinthians 3:18 – 4:5-7

This is the carefree city that lived in safety. She said to herself, “I am, and there is none besides me.”
Zephaniah 2:15

“You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.”
Revelation 3:17

“But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left, and many cattle as well. Should I not be concerned about that great city?”
Jonah 4:11

The Ninevites believed God. They declared a fast, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.
